This is going to be a great exhibition - I can't wait to meet like minded creative folx in Lonnie.

This is GASH's first REAL 'OUT' - ing and she's doing it in the best courageous company at an awesome venue :D
NB: When this artwork was created in 2015-2016 I was doing my best to stop self-harming. I had finally achieved my long-time dream of getting a full-time job teaching at a University so I could pay the mortgage for my dream home. I'd never had a home before so I was prepared to do what it took to keep it. This dream job was a nightmare from the beginning. Self-harm helped me mask my Brown, Queer, ND, Tree-hugger identity while I perpetuated the values of a neoliberal organisation which openly supported discrimination and horrendous acts of ecocide.
Thankfully I was freed from this delusion when my dream home was lost during the 2022 SE QLD floods and now I can be myself.
This artwork is the story of my struggle with the harm I inflicted on my body and the natural world.
This exhibition allows me to show this artwork as I wanted to in 2016. Thank you :D
